Brush up on these quick facts and features about different UTV parts and accessories before choosing the one that’s right for you.
You might think the need for UTV mirrors is a lot less compared to cars on the road since you might be the only UTV out there, but riders still need to have a clear line of visibility all around their vehicle. Just because there may not be other vehicles on your right and left sides, there are plenty of obstacles out there in the wild you’ll need to have a clear view of.
Typically, the answer is no. In most cases, you’ll need to seek out an aftermarket UTV sideview and/or rearview mirror set if you want mirrors.
While there are plenty of mirrors that may be able to fit on multiple models, there is certainly no “one-size-fits-all” mirror out there. The key metric you want to have handy when shopping for UTV mirrors is your roll bar size and/or shape. Keep this number handy, and you’ll know whether or not you are compatible with a given product.
Side Mirrors: Just like in a standard car or truck, these are fixed onto the side of your UTV - whether at the cage or door frame - to give you a clear view of the areas to the side and behind your UTV.
Rearview Mirrors: Typically attaching either to the windshield or your UTV’s roll cage, rearview mirrors give you a clear view of the area directly behind your vehicle. If you like to bounce around in tough terrain more often than not, then make sure you get one with anti-vibration capabilities.
Wide-Angle Mirrors: If a conventional mirror isn’t quite cutting it in terms of giving you access to everything you want to see, then a wide-angle or panoramic mirror might do the trick. These use bigger lenses to keep you more aware of what’s around you.
Convex Mirrors: Blind spots giving you anxiety? Convex mirrors use their curved shape to fill these in, while also allowing you to view a slightly larger area.
Dual Sport Mirrors: The perfect combination of side and rear view mirrors, these can be adjusted to give visibility to both the sides and rear areas of your UTV.
