Why Do You Need a UTV Air Intake System?
It may not seem as important as that costly fuel or oil, but air is in fact another element that enters your engine and affects performance just the same. When the air is dirty, your performance goes downhill dramatically. If you want your engine to do its job efficiently, and for a long time, you will need a solid air filter.
Why Is Clean Air So Important to My UTV?
To put it frankly, offroading is about the biggest challenge you can throw at any vehicle’s air filter, thanks to all the dirt and dust particles constantly being kicked up into the air. Running with an OEM filter is fine for some purposes, but if you’re going for greater performance and lifespan, a high-quality aftermarket air intake is always a good idea.
How Often Should I Change My UTV Air Filter?
It’s best to change your filter at least once annually if you are spending lots of time in particularly dusty riding environments. If you’re more of a casual rider, and/or one who doesn’t frequently ride in dirty or dusty areas, changing your air filter every two years should suffice.
Types of UTV Air Intake Accessories
Performance Air Filters: Superior to stock filters, these filters are made from top-quality materials and highly advanced tech to ensure maximum trapping of dirt and debris. Performance air filters offer improved engine protection and a boost in horsepower.
Intake Snorkels: These components are a must for riders who often drive through rivers and pockets of water, or through dusty environments. The snorkels allow you to brave much deeper waters than usual, thanks to your ability to take in air from a higher position on your vehicle.
Intake Kits: This refers to an all-included set of everything you might need to upgrade your air filter situation, including the filter itself, intake tube, and so on and so forth. Each kit should come with installation instructions.
Pre-Filters: These filters offer extra layers of filtration by stopping large debris from reaching the main air filter. They are best used in dusty or sandy environments. Pre-Filters can extend the lifespan of the primary air filter and prevent it from clogging before it’s even ready at that point to be replaced.
