What to Know About UTV Doors

Brush up on these quick facts and features about different UTV parts and accessories before choosing the one that’s right for you.

Why Are UTV Doors Important to Have?

While we appreciate the desire for open-air riding, there’s no telling when or how a gnarly piece of debris (or an unwelcome four-legged guest) is going to lunge into your cab and cause damage to you, your interior, or your passengers. And while nets and soft barriers may help a little, there’s really no substitute for a solid UTV door. And hey, who doesn’t love a perfectly positioned armrest?

Which Brand Makes the Best UTV Door?

Since there are between 20 and 50 different UTV door configurations on the market now, and since each tailors to different riding styles and environments, it’s not really possible to declare any one brand as “better.” Really, it’s a matter of understanding which kind of doors there are, and which kind would best suit your circumstances. Do you need soft doors, hard doors, year-round options, half doors, or something else? Keep all these questions in mind, and you’ll be able to make a more informed choice.

Types of UTV Doors

Full Doors: Full doors offer complete protection for the entire cabin area. They are typically made of steel or aluminum, ensuring the most protection against branches, rocks and hazards. Opt for Full Doors when you want ultimate safety and weatherproofing.

Half Doors: Half doors cover the lower portion of the UTV's cabin while leaving the upper portion open. This design allows for airflow in warmer conditions. They will still block any debris that tries to hop into your cabin from a lower elevation and/or a downward angle. If you’re noticing that most of the debris you’re dealing with flies in at a lower angle like this, then half doors might be the way to go.

Tube Doors: These doors are constructed from tubular (well, that makes sense) steel or aluminum frames, giving you stability and support while also allowing for that open-air experience. Tube doors keep larger debris at bay while allowing maximum airflow. Opt for Tube doors when you want maximum airflow and some level of safeguarding.
