Here is how it works…The weight of the ATV/UTV (700 to 1500 lbs.) and the rider (200 lbs.) is utilized to put direct down pressure (weight) on the plow. The more down-force you have with “less steel” on the ground equals a more aggressive cut. You are actually riding on the plow like a fifth wheel. REMEMBER: Even though the Groundhog MAX is only half as wide (21”) …its plowing speeds are twice as fast! Plowing speeds on a regular 300 lbs+ pull behind plow are 2-3 mph while the Groundhog MAX is 5-7+ mph. This plow is less stressful on the ATV/UTV so this allows you to use even smaller CC “air cooled only machines’ even in 2 wheel drive …always start off less aggressively by utilizing your height adjustment settings. The Groundhog MAX's versatility and maneuverability also allows you to backup with the plow engaged but use only as necessary as it does not plow well going backwards.

If you do not have a strong square 2” receiver on your machine NO worries…you can buy the plow with a hitch included (fits many Hondas and Polaris) or buy a year, make, and model specific 2” receiver hitch online at many places. Once you plow your food plot, throw out your seed and fertilizer and then back the plow back up on the 4” x 4” block and adjust the plow so it barely touches the ground. Go over your food plot again in looping circles and figure eights. This is somewhat like using a culti-packer…between the cleats of your tires and the Groundhog flipping a little dirt…it allows you to have better soil to seed contact.

Imagine anywhere you can take an ATV/UTV you can install a food plot. Also, you can get there at the speed of an ATV/UTV because when you transport the plow it is not touching the ground.
